Part of How to review landing page software with the unknowns kept in plain sight

Landing page software providers compared in alphabetical order: GetResponse, Systeme.io and Unbounce plans and prices

Unbounce, GetResponse and Systeme.io compared on published plan names, limits and prices, with VAT and tracking checks for England buyers. Nobody is ranked.

What to take away

  • Three providers are listed alphabetically, not rankedGetResponse, Systeme.io and Unbounce. No one is named best.
  • Each meters a different unittraffic and users at Unbounce, plan tier at GetResponse, contacts and funnels at Systeme.io.
  • Only GetResponse showed pounds on its page, as net amounts. Unbounce and Systeme.io publish US dollars.
  • No England order form, support test or lead-capture test was run, so no provider can be recommended on this evidence.

The three records side by side

The entry rule was documentary: a current first-party pricing page with named plans. This is desk research. No account, page, form or support response was tested.

GetResponse: an email platform with landing pages

Landing pages sit inside an email-marketing subscription. Starter is £13 a month, or £10.66 annually, with 1 custom automation workflow. Marketer is £44 (£36.08 annually) and adds unlimited automation workflows, abandoned cart recovery and sales funnels. Creator is £51 (£41.82) and adds webinars and a course creator.

Prices are net amounts, so VAT is extra. A free account can publish as many landing pages as it likes, but visits are limited to 1,000 unique visitors a month. Paid plans lift that limit and add A/B testing.

Systeme.io: a free tier and four plans

Systeme.io publishes a free plan with 2,000 contacts, 3 sales funnels and 1 course. Startup costs $17 a month for 5,000 contacts, 10 sales funnels and 5 courses. Webinar costs $47 for 10,000 contacts, 50 sales funnels, 20 courses and evergreen webinars. Unlimited costs $97 with unlimited contacts, all features and sub-accounts.

All plans include unlimited email sends and 0% transaction fees. The free plan supports 1 blog, 1 affiliate program and 1 custom domain. Count your contacts before you choose, because contacts and funnels are the meters that move you up a tier.

Unbounce: a builder priced by traffic and users

Unbounce sells four self-serve tiers. Starter is $29 a month ($22 yearly) with 5 pages and traffic volume up to 500. Build is $99 ($74 yearly) with unlimited pages, traffic volume up to 20k and 1 user. Experiment is $149 ($112) with unlimited A/B testing, 30k and 3 users.

The fourth self-serve tier, Optimize, is $249 ($187) with AI traffic optimisation, 50k and 5 users. Concierge and Agency plans are quoted individually. All plans include unlimited conversions and free hosting, and yearly billing saves 25 per cent. The Unbounce, Instapage and Leadpages questions list shows what to ask each seller.

Turning a dollar price into a UK cost

Illustrative arithmetic, not a quote. A $99 plan at an assumed rate of 0.80 pounds to the dollar is £79.20. If 20 per cent VAT were added, that would be £95.04. Check the invoice and the card fee, because the rate on the day will differ.

For services bought from outside the UK, a rule called the reverse charge applies, and the buyer converts the value to sterling at the correct exchange rate.

There are different rules for some types of service, including electronically supplied services such as web hosting. Check the VAT on services from abroad guidance with your adviser before you decide how the invoice is treated.

Check the tracking before you publish

Landing pages collect leads, and tracking scripts go with them. The ICO storage and access guidance covers cookies, tracking pixels, link decoration, device fingerprinting, web storage, and scripts or tags, and sets out the PECR rules for them. List every one on your page against it.

Lead capture also needs consent wording and records, as the lead capture forms checklist sets out. Free tiers rarely settle these duties, so read free versus paid builders before you commit.

What a quote must contain

Ask each provider for five items in writing:

  1. The exact plan tier, with page, traffic, contact and user limits.
  2. The contracting entity and the order form.
  3. The price in pounds before VAT, and with VAT where it applies.
  4. The exchange rate and any card fee, if billed in dollars.
  5. The billing period, renewal date and cancellation route.

Use the pricing models article to compare unlike units, and read the contract checklist before signing. Then run the supplier due diligence checks on the legal party and the exit route.

Before you sign

  • Name the exact plan tier in writing.
  • Get the contracting entity and the governing law.
  • Confirm the pound price and the VAT treatment.
  • List every cookie, pixel and script on the page.
  • Set a review date, because plans move.

Common questions

Which provider is best for an England buyer?

None can be named best on this evidence. All three publish plan tiers, and none was tested. The list is alphabetical.

Why do the prices use different units?

Each provider meters something different: traffic and users, plan tier, or contacts and funnels. Compare cost for your own volumes, not headline prices.

What should I check before signing up?

The exact tier, the pound price and VAT position, the contracting entity, renewal terms and the data terms for lead capture. Recheck every figure on the day you buy.
